|Recommended: YesExcellent place to live — Motor Wheel Lofts is an excellent place to live The aesthetic of the building, having been renovated from an old factory, has a wonderful industrial-modern feel to it. The 12 foot tall ceilings make it feel very spacious. The apartments are very well insulated for sound. I had my windows open, and the street right outside was very busy and incredibly loud inside the apartment -- but when I briefly stepped outside my unit and shut the door, I could not hear any noise from inside the unit. There is parking available outside the front doors, as well as a heated garage. Sometimes it can be hard to find a spot outside, but I have always been able to find one for myself. The other residents are very nice, though they do keep to themselves. If you prefer a bit more privacy and to be left alone, this place is perfect for you If you're like me and want to socialize a bit more with the residents, at least they're nice and willing to say hi when you run into them in the hallways.
All in all, a great place to live, and I've already recommended to a friend that he apply here.
|Recommended: YesAwesome — I have thoroughly enjoyed living at Motor Wheel Lofts. Harry and the rest of the staff have always been so kind they always want to do their best to help you out with the things you need. We did have to put in quite a few maintenance requests over the year but when the guy came to fix them he’d be in and out in less than 10 minutes, and they always exceeded our expectations in fixing things. Overall a wonderful and very unique place to live.
|Recommended: YesGreat place to live to be close to downtown Lansing and Frandor. The staff is discreet in the hallways, responsive to maintenance requests, and on it with renewals. The hallways are kept clean with iRobot vacuums and the building is key access only. Underground parking garage is convenient and safe. Very limited noise from other apartments I only very occasionally hear someone in the hall, my upstairs neighbor walking, or a next door neighbor's music it's incredibly quiet.

I love how this whole building is ideal for tall people 6'5 with tall doorways, showers, ceilings, etc. Perfect location to get everywhere quickly and friendly neighbors. What more could you ask for

|Recommended: YesNew Kid on the Block — Living at MotorWheel is like being in that super, nice, plush hotel with all the fancy finishes and amenities while wishing you could just stay there and didn’t have to check out. The attention to detail with developing the lofts is much appreciated and spot on. Kevin, the manager is astounding. He’s respectful, super responsive and helpful. If there were items I’ve brought to the attention of the maintenance staff, it has always been resolved by the next day.

|Recommended: YesI'm a new resident and I love it here. The high ceilings and industrial feel coupled with the modern atmosphere is top notch. The underground parking is definitely a huge plus. The owner of Hinc. was really cool to me when we met, the maintenance crew is prompt and respectful, and Kevin has been more of a friend to me than a property manager, and has had my back covered at every point. Im definitely looking forward staying here a while
|Recommended: YesModern Peaceful Lofts — I first moved to Motor Wheel Lofts in August of 2019 shortly following my graduation from MSU. This is my 3rd apartment complex, and 3rd management company property owner, and in every single way Motor Wheel Lofts has outperformed the other two apartment complexes and management by leaps and bounds.
This first year I have lived on the first floor, and my loft is beautiful. Concrete floors, tall ceilings, thick walls and windows that block out 99.9 of all noise. There is a train that runs right by the building, and unless one of my windows is open, the only thing I hear is a bit of vibration from the train, but little to no noise. The unit has a washer and dryer right in the unit, the shower is actually tall enough that I never find myself having to duck under the water, even with my height at a little over 6'2 . Storage space is everywhere, cabinets, closet space, drawers and cabinets in the kitchen.
In March, as the coronavirus pandemic began to spread in Michigan, the property manager and staff kept everyone informed of new sanitation procedures and schedules that they would be putting into place immediately. There were new hand sanitizer dispensers and stations placed around the building, and the property manager even planned to make a batch or two of their own hand sanitizer when they were having trouble ordering from their usual vendors and distributors. Oh but they made sure to reach out prior to this, and give everyone an ingredient list to ensure that no one had an allergy to any of the ingredients
There have been two property managers during my time here at Motor Wheel Lofts
I signed my first lease with Adison, who worked with H Inc. Leasing for 8 years, and even though I only lived here for about 9 months with Adison as property manager, I quickly discovered that Adison always went above and beyond for all of the residents. A few months ago, possibly fighting off some kind of a bug or virus, I slept upwards of 20 hours straight, from early Saturday evening into late Sunday afternoon. My family, concerned that I had not responded to multiple calls or texts, asked a friend that lives here in Lansing if she would be willing to drive over to check on me. My friend was able to call Adison, who came over to let my friend into the building, and who recognized her after meeting her on my move-in day. Adison took the time to walk down to my loft unit with my friend to make sure that I was okay not in need of medical attention, and even stuck around to ensure that everything was okay even after I initially woke up and answered my door. Adison truly cared about the well-being and happiness of all the residents that she oversaw as property manager.
Kevin is the new property manager, and I can already tell that Kevin is someone that is an asset to H Inc. Leasing and all of the residents here at Motor Wheel Lofts. I thought it would be difficult for someone to take over after Adison moved on to future career opportunities, but I can already tell Kevin will meet and or exceed the standards that Adison set as property manager.
July 3rd fell on a Friday this year, and all the residents had been emailed to let us know that any maintenance AC requests should be sent in a few days before the weekend as some of the staff would be taking time off for the holiday weekend. My smoke alarm battery chose July 3rd as the day it wanted to start dying, and it was, of course, the smoke alarm placed high up on the wall in my bedroom. I called Kevin to ask if there was any chance that there was a member of the maintenance staff that would be able to help me in replacing the battery, and Kevin was at my apartment door within 10-15 minutes with a giant ladder a new battery to replace the failing one.
After replacing the battery, Kevin took the time to speak with me about my lease that was coming to an end, and after some discussion, he showed me a few of the other open units in the building, and within the next 1-2 weeks, I had a new lease signed for a loft on the 2nd floor, with a beautiful view of part of downtown Lansing.
I honestly am so excited to be living here at Motor Wheel Lofts for another year, and depending on developments in my career and potential future studies, I could see myself living here for a long time. I would say to anyone that has ever considered living here at Motor Wheel Lofts, this is a place that you can absolutely make and call your new home.
